Update - a new plot that includes the records for 2022
This plot shows the market share per type of energy for light car registrations in Portugal.
The data was obtained from the Autoinforma website and has records since January 2020. It was aggregated in quarters and it is important to note that. For the version above, the last quarter we are only considering the first 3 months since the records for December were not available yet.
In the last 3 months of 2021 the market share for the Electric and Hybrid cars is 43%. At the same time, the market share for both Gasoline and Diesel cars are in their lowest values since 2020, and they have a joint share of 53%, only 10% than the electric vehicles.
